The Chair

The symbolism of the empty chair in the Silent Scars logo is powerful and deeply moving. It represents the absence left by those who have been lost to the ravages of war and also signifies a space waiting to be filled, whether by the return of those lost, the stories of their absence, or the hope for a better future.

The chair itself, when juxtaposed with the disfigured victim, conveys a stark and haunting message. It speaks to the transformation of something once functional into a symbol of profound human suffering. It highlights the physical and emotional scars that war inflicts not only on the individual but also on the spaces and objects associated with them
